Dear Parishioners:
After two months of participating digitally in livestreamed Masses and receiving Holy Communion spiritually, we will finally be able to celebrate Mass and receive Jesus in Holy Communion.
At St. Andrew’s our reopening of Masses will be on May 30th and 31st weekend. This also falls on Pentecost Sunday, when our Catholic Church was born. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to cast fire on earth. That fire is meant to keep burning in us. What a beautiful feast of our Catholic faith! And what a good start for our Masses reopening!
Due to the health directives promulgated by the Province’s health authorities, attendance at Mass will be no more than 50 people. Anyone attending Mass does so at their own risk. I know that not everyone will be able to come to our church and celebrate the Holy Mass. Our parish will continue to offer a livestreamed Mass every Sunday at 10am.
Please note that all the faithful in the Archdiocese of Vancouver remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass during this reopening phase.
Our parish is trying to introduce a sign-up system that would best serve our parishioners. Right now, we ask our parishioners to voluntarily sign-up to attend a specific Mass at a specific time on a Sunday or a weekday on a regular basis to form a fixed ‘Community Mass Group’. Please email or call the parish office during office hours for your Mass preference. You will receive a confirmation call from the parish office prior to attending Mass.
During this time of uncertainty, I am asking you to be patient and understanding with one another. Let us pray for each other’s safety and well-being. God bless you and all your loved ones.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay connected.
+ Father Joe
